Yep! Jay-Z has done it again! The 47-year-old rapper’s new album, 4:44, has gone platinum less than a week after its release. The album was initially available exclusively on Tidal and to pre- existing subscribers, as well as Sprint customers. Earlier this week, it became available to all Tidal users.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), who certified the album platinum, took to twitter the mogul’s great accomplishment on Wednesday.
“4:44 Goes Platinum – JAY-Z’s 13 Platinum (or higher) solo studio Album Awards are more than any other hip hop artist, “the RIAA’s official account twitted.
“Props to JAY, he’s done it again,” the RIAA also tweeted under a photo of the rapper posing with his plaque. “4:44 Certified Platinum. Another Platinum adds to an already iconic career,” RIAA added. Jay-Z’s 13th studio album addresses his infidelity in his marriage with wife Beyoncé, which theme in her album Lemonade was highly acclaimed.
